Reading Assessments: The Why and How of Using Assessments to Drive Teaching and Learning

One of our Montessori mantras is: “Observe! Observe! Observe!” How can the right reading assessments help us “observe” where children are on the trajectory of literacy development? How can we translate those “observations” into actionable next steps in relation to our instruction? How can we move from assessing children to supporting them to thrive? This session will cover the “why” and “how” of using reading assessments to identify which emergent reading skills children have mastered and which ones need support through a 3rd grade reading level.
